Proper reading lights and bedside tables are, after the bed itself, the most important elements in a well designed bedroom.
Bedside tables should have drawers or drawers and doors – they will allow you to put personal items away and will assure a clutter-free look.
If your bedside tables are small due to lack of space, make sure to use wall mounted sconces rather than table lamps as your reading lights. Another beautiful and unique solution is installing a ceiling mounted pendant over a night stand.
I personally believe that every room should have some kind of overhead lighting – small recessed cans (low voltage or halogen are my favorite) will do the job when installed in all four corners of a bedroom for soft illumination.
Make sure that all the bedroom lights are dimmable – there is no better way to create a soft, relaxing mood than with dimmed light.
